There are several features that can be automated on a radar detector. An auto radar detector can be set to automatically detect and disregard certain signals. This is useful when you are in town. Some radar detectors may be too sensitive while in a city, and indicate there is radar close by, even if it’s only a garage door opening or a grocery store door. One word of caution: radar detectors are not legal in all states. You can receive a ticket at the very least for having one in your car in some areas, so know your state laws before you buy a radar detector.
